homelite 360 is leaking gas into oil tank

I was trying to set my jets on the prodject,(headache) 360 and couldn't figure out why it was smoking so bad. It is leaking between the gas and oil tank. Is there a gasket or something that can leak? I'm puzzled as to how elsea hole could form between them. thanks

possibly corrosion caused a hole to open up between the two tanks.
