Did somebody say 7-29??? That day, it was just about the best runner I had.

Chris B.

you are a big fellow there Chris, you make that big saw look like a 7-19.

Beautiful day so I decided to get the runners out for a group pic. If it didn't start it didn't make the cut lol.

I wondered where everybody has been, I am a bit slow...
I finally got over being sour over a poorly described homelite 750 I got snookered into buying, the saw was above average condition advertised non running, very good compression, haha :censored: f'ing ha. NO compression what so ever. I mixed and matched parts then buffed and picked and poked at a scored up piston for the better part of year and finally felt comfortable enough with this piston to assemble the saw. Booya 120# of compression. It is slightly oily so it may be less....

Next step is to swap on a carb and ignition from a runner then rebreak in the the New cyl and used piston for a while then disassemble and inspect. the boot is fairly elastic and above avg condition I am starting to wonder what did this saw in? Any thoughts? the piston was burned up on the exhaust side and did not transfer metal to the CYL. I will have to figure out the picture hosting here. is it the same as HOH?

Mike,
Nice to hear from you!
So you got that 750 running, Good for you!
As far as the saw burning up, was the carb set to lean? Was the top of the piston burnt from to hot a plug?
The intake skirt on my 750 was nicked up from running with a bad boot, it was sucking in dirt & crap. When the boot got bad enough it finally seized.

Picture hosting is different than HOH, not harder, just different. There is a great thread on it, search 'picture hosting'
Again, nice to see you here!

Hay Mike!
Great to hear from you. Most stuff I read tends to point toward running lean if the exhaust side looks bad. You may wanna do a pressure/vac check on the case and make sure there isn't an air leak somewhere. Could have just been they had the carb leaned out too much. Anyway awesome to hear you're getting her ready to go.

The chain is unused but the bar is warped and bent.

Cl 360

Well not free but for $25 got a good runner needing no work with a good chain,a good spare chain, quart of bar oil,5 cans of premix, grease gun and a tub of grease..

only ONE minor problem and that is how to put THIS into were it goes ??

I'm thinking a finish nail to drive on the pin then cut a hole in other side to get pin out far enough ?? then seal up the black plastic with what ? so it dont shrink and split ??

tnx..

thanks Jim

The H jet was turned in a bit. but who knows from the previous owner. That saw could have been from out west and the bone head I bought it from could have just flipped it for profit? I am just relieved that it has free piston rings and Ok compression. I will post a photo of that piston when I get a chance.
