I made a thread of those 2 saws its called "Who Likes Twins???" In that thread when I posted the videos I also posted the links for you but you never saw the thread I guess. I'll bump the thread for ya

I saw that thread Rick. Trouble is..................with embedded links on AS, I don't see anything but a big square outline with a teeny white square in the upper corner. I have no way of knowing what the video is, and there's nothing at all to click. I had no way of knowing that the videos you posted in this thread were the same ones from the 'Twins' thread...:bang:

Hi rarefish383,

I think you meant to quote me:
My friend never found (maybe never looked for) the air filter bits, but I was able to find a black air filter cover and a cleanable used filter from a local guy that used to repair Homelites for Claymont Hardware in Claymont, Delaware.

Last night I put in a parts request at CM Small Engines for the carb rebuild kit, reed cage gasket, and the formed fuel line. (Maybe they were on the web site, but I couldn't find them. Maybe I was just blind again.) They're all on eBay but I'd rather support a site sponsor.

I was thinking of taking the saw all apart for cleaning, but then I thought "if it's ain't broke don't fix it", so instead I'm doing a semi-thorough external cleaning. There's a lot of oily sawdust on the cooling fins, but WD-40 and lots of paper towels and Q Tips is cleaning that stuff off pretty well.

I'll have new pictures later as I make more progress.

Homelite 240

Is $60 a good price for the 240.
Someone on CL has one listed for that price.
I don't know anything about it, except they claim it runs good and starts right up.
How hard is it to get parts for them?
Or would I just be wasting $60 even if it does run now, but needs something in the future?

I wouldn't spend that much. Offer him $40.00 after you've seen it, if its a gem, then maybe $50.00. Parts are around, you can buy whole saws for $10-20 bucks.

Do all 330's have reed valve setup or not? I have two different IPLs now and only one shows a reed valve system. What does it do?

The only thing I have ever worked on with a reed valve system was an old Scorpion snowmobile "Stingerette" model but that was 25 years ago when I was a kid.

Some Homelite noise to scare off a RandyMac attack. And a link for Eccentric, I don't want to hear him whine and complain.

Never mind the text on the image. I had to trim beginning and end of the video and this was the fastest way for me to do it.
