Homemade Mark 3 Rail Plans

Does anyone have any plans or suggestions on fabricating some cheap rails? I picked up a used AK Mark 3 mill and saw combo and want to fab some rails. I don't have the money for the fancy aluminum rails.

A 2x6 or 2x8 works. But if your looking something more rigid that you can work with try uni strut. There's a couple post in here about it.

Thanks for the info on the 2x4 and ladder. Have you any suggestions on the means of securiying the rail to the log? The store bought rails are either nailed or use pinch dogs. One system even has leveling screws on the cross members.
