Just like the title says, how hard is it? I've got all the study materials listed for a course that they offer here to pass the exam in the state but i would like to learn on my own because the course is short and i dont know how much they actually teach you (it appears to be an angle to get money) also i've spoken to several people with the license and they say it's tough but when you get it its not that hard to find a job, if i've left anything out i would like to know. Thanks.

I heard the oral part was the hardest.

Everyone I talked to that had it said plan on taking it until you pass. 4 or 5 times seemed the norm. The fact that many of them passed at all made me wonder how hard it could be.

I never had time but had intended taking it until I decided to get out of CT while I could afford to.

I talked to a lady at the DEP in Hartford in the arborist dept. She was a real piece of work let me tell you!

She proudly compared her Dept to the IRS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad I'm back home.
