I was recently given a snowblower, which had not been run in a number of years. The gas tank has black, smelly, crud in it. I'm sure some of you old chain saw restorers have faced this. What is a good method to clean it up? Thanks. Gene Gauss

I am not an old pro, but I usually just dump in some mixed gas and shake it around for a bit then dump it out. You might have to repeat a few times but this usually does the trick for me. Good luck.

this works on most tanks

empty your tank, get some good carb cleaner or if you dare acetone or methalethalketone, this will kill one out of ten, so use wisley, a hand full of 1/4" nuts and shake the bee out of it. dump and repeat untill clean.
