Am servicing my brother's 024 and want to change it from .325 to 3/8. Ordered a rim sprocket kit which fits shaft but the drum is too high. How is the height measured? Is it the height of the complete part, the outside depth of the drum or the inside depth of the drum?
The existing part (which fits but is worn out) is a Stihl 1121/00
I hope someone can throw some light on how the height of the clutch is measured.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Never mind. I worked it out.The clutch drum height is measured from the outside of the drum.
Cheers
There are two different drums and corresponding heights for that series of saws depending on engine vs. clutch driven oiler. The 024 has the clutch driven oiler with the shorter clutch drum. 3/8" is also a bit much for that saw unless you will be running a short bar.
