Am I blind or is there no decomp on this saw? Ebay item 110839075460.

No the early ones did not have the decomp, as nmurph said and yes they do run stronger than the ones with the decomp, though that has nothing to do with the reason why. The early ones came with the Walbro # 87 carb which has an 11/16" or so bore....the later ones were fitted with the Walbro # 120 carb which is 5/8" or so. Also both these had different manifolds that matched the carbs. I recently built a ported 262XP for a wood cutter friend who had four worn out ones that I combined with a pile of new parts to build a "new" saw from scratch. I used a cyl with the decomp, reduced the squish to 0.020", used an #87 carb and manifold, new opened up Meteor etc. The decomp is manditory on this saw as you can easily break the plastic recoil if the motor kicks back when starting...don't ask how I know this to be true....
