anyone know the part number for an older husqvarna 40 fuel cap? I bought a 506 02 75-05 and the danged thing is too big! I think its a 1986 model from what I can decipher from the serial number. Thanks!

From what I see on Jack's, the number is 503551601 which must be the replacement to the original 506027502 but neither is available from Husky now. It is the same number for the oil and fuel tank cap.

The number you bought is from the later IPL but I don't know what the differences are. I see that both of the numbers I gave you are available on ebay but you should also ask for it on the Trading Post here and get it cheaper.

Both those numbers are the right ones for the early Husqvarna 40.
I just purchased one on eBay.
