no, it's for real. you must have a pre-EPA version. it's a small, red button located on the handle. it's not 100% at backing a bar out, but most of the times it will do the trick. haven't you seen any of the large cruiser bikes that have reverse? i remember exactly where i was at when i saw my first motorcycly back out of a parking space.
