I am in the market for a new saw. I called Husqvarna directly and asked about the internal construction of their saws from a durability standpoint. They said all of their saws from the 359 down are built with same quality so longevity is the same ( pro models are slightly enhanced). I am looking at the 455 rancher for myself. I will probably cut about six cords a year. Any suggestions?

I have never owned or ran a 455 but I have read several posts in the chainsaw forum and most of those guys over there would not recommend them. They claim that they are too heavy for the power that they pack. Try posting this over there and Im sure that they will head you in the right direction. Good luck.

skip the 455 alltogether.

get a 359/357xp,a used 55 rancher (sometimes you can find used leftovers or go to ebay),or a stihl 270 and up,or a dolamr 5100 and up.if you have a dolmar dealer nearby.
