The 357 is listed as a pro saw 56.5cc, 4.4hp 12.1lbs. The 359 is listed as a landowner saw 59cc, 3.9hp 12.1lbs. Other than the differences on paper many people seem to think the more hp and less cc's is worth extra $200.

Im not an expert, but I believe the 357 has closed transfer ports, and the 359 has open transfers. Plus a few plastic differences.

If Im wrong, I apologize...

They are the exact same saw except...

1. The crank has stuffers pressed over the "bells" on the crank in order to displace volume in the case.
2. The 357 has a Mahle P&C

I think that's it. The case is the exact same PN as well as all of the other parts. they even share the same IPL.

357 is smaller displacement. 357 makes more horsepower. 357 has Mahle P&C, 359 does not. 357 has crank stuffers.

Here's a 359.

Good info. What accounts for the 357's .5 hp numbers advantage?
