I would like to know how much horizontal play in the small end of a husqvarna 371xp crankshaft is acceptable. Installed a new OEM Husqvarna 365 piston, pin and bearing on the replacement 371xp crankshaft I want to use to test. The piston slides more horizontally on the 371 crank than my damaged 365 crankshaft with the new parts installed. The piston is almost comfortably snug on the old 365 crankshaft. Vertical piston play at the small end is nil on both cranks. The wear is visible on the 371xp crank as it has shined up on one side only and there is even the slightest burr on the mid left side. The damaged 365 crank has no wear visible on either side. What would cause the wear on the 371 crank? Last picture shows the 371 crankshaft on top and the 365 below. Why are they shaped differently? Any opinions appreciated.

The rod was initially beveled like that on top in the larger saws for lubricating the wrist pin/wrist pin bearing assembly. The horizontal movement isn't really a concern. Up and down movement on either end of the rod is the big worry.
