can someone tell me please, when did the Husqvarna 309XP production begin??

Thanks. Are you sure? Because some guy sells HQ 390XP and he claims it's made in 2003.

Is there some "database" where this kind of data can be found?

That is as far back as the IPL on partstree.com goes back for them. I don't know about over there. I didn't search anything but the US IPLs. Ask for a picture of the tag on it with the serial number.

That simply is not possible, maybe a 385 with a 390 engine?

The best sourse right now is the IPL library at Huskys US site (the library is gone from the other sites that featured it, at least it was the last time I looked).

LOL - the number above the s/n is the "part number" on the complete saw, as it left the factory....
