I appreciate the concern! I am a bit afraid of any saw, especially one with the power of a 395. I am trying to find a tree trimmer professional to show me how to properly use a chain saw. But that is not easy with insurance & liability concerns. Even though my participation would imply assumption of risk.

I will always be as careful as possible. I bought chaps, gloves, & a helmet to minimize the danger and most important, I will not be in hurry. I will take it nice and slow watching out for kickback

I think a 550 or similar sized light flickable nimble saw would be more easy to get into dangerous positions and kickback easier that a big heavy 395xp wearing a heavy bar that you will struggle to wield. IMO from my experience. But yeah saws are mean. Enjoy that chainsaw acquisition disorder. I do.

Best thing to do is go and do a basic felling course, this will give you a good foundation in saw safety, maintainence, cross cutting and small fells. You'll get a good grounding in the basics.

This poor guy proclaiming to be a professional logger is just asking about a damn saw that is new. He’s Just a guy that likes saws. Pipe down and step off your high horse.. geez

when your in the industry you know what it is and the internet makes it look like a total joke without people proclaiming themselves as loggers. so understand that your perspective is gonna be way different then mine. he turned out to be a guy pulling a fast one on his wife lol but most guys doing **** like that are wannabes and yes i know i like to troll those guys, i can live fine with you thinking i'm a piece of ****. lol

Good buddy, busy installing a wood boiler in the house. You still falling production? I can't wait to see a 572 in person. I might have to buy one eventually.

what did you have for heat before? falling off and on, been a terrible January here. i say i'm gonna wait a year or for the 90cc but i'll probably give in like everyone else. stick it on the shelf to stare at lol

Heating with a woodstove and burning the fuel oil boiler. The stove heat doesn't distribute as well as I need. Going high tech gasification boiler and indoor storage.
Yeah, 70cc saws are plenty for what I do. I don't really need all my big saws but I am starting tonget into milling so I have a reason to own the 394.

Maybe in a few years I'll have a firewood business and can justify the 572.

The self-proclamation of "Professional Logger" is only meant to convince my wife that I do need another saw, when the truth is that the two I bought is already overkill for my situation. I have not received my 550 & 395 yet, but they are shipping on Monday. I have never even held a real chainsaw before. The stupid craftsman chainsaw I had before never lasted long enough to get any real time on it. It was in pretty bad shape when I got it.

I didn't mean to disrespect any real "Professional Loggers". No matter how many saws I have, I will never ever be a professional logger. I am just cutting down dead trees on my property to keep them from falling on my stuff. In the last month, I have lost the roof on my garage and had a nice car totaled. I will never be employed or make money harvesting large tracts of lumber. I am just not tough enough for that kind of thing, but I certainly have the upmost respect for those that are!

I’m sitting here trying to figure out if this post is for real:nofunny:
I’ve never known anybody who went from a crafsman saw...... to ordering both brand new 550 and 395. With talk of a brand new 572, yet having no knowledge of how to actually handle a saw.
To clear trees around the property? :dizzy::wtf:

now now trent, shimaze came out right away with honesty when he didn't have to and he obviously loves saws. he's good in my books. add adam to the list though k lol

Oh he def loves saws! :)

Shimaze- I almost hate to ask what you mow your lawn with! I’m betting it’s green, has tracks and weights 200,000 lbs

Yeah I am for real. I did order both a 550 & a 395. When I get them in, I will post pics of me holding them. Yes, going from a craftsman to two professional series Husqvarna chainsaws is bit crazy. But I look at most things as an investment. Now, now matter how big or small the need for a chainsaw is, I will have something to cut with. Plus, I have always wanted a saw ever since I was 10 years when I would go into the woods to gather firewood with a bow saw and my wagon and come home after 4 hours with a small load of wood and a very tired little arm.

I really do have a need for a saw(s). I have several trees that are dead and ready to fall. In the last month I have had my garage roof damaged and a nice car torn up because of trees that I have been needing to cut down, but didn't have a saw to do it. Plus the DOT has come thru on my road and cut down several trees and just let them lay on the ground. They are mine for the taking because the neighbors would like to see them gone. Because I can heat my house with firewood in my wood furnace, I can never have too much firewood. I don't keep a real accurate count, but I bet I can burn a cord a week in my furnace. I can also burn fuel oil or coal in the same furnace, but the wood is free.

Additionally, I always go overkill in most things I do. I have a phobia of equipment failure and don't like thinking that I may have been a little better off if I would have invested just a little more money. I am the guy that uses 40 lb braided line in my bluegill fishing pole. I also hate contemplating replacing what I just bought. I would have bought used a used saw, but the price difference between a new and a used saw was less than 25%. And I am the guy that would spend 3x times as much for something that lasts twice as long.

As the for the 572? I will have to see how it goes with the first two saws I have. But it sure does look sweet. I was excited when I found the 572 on the UK website because so many people told me to buy a 372 instead of the 395 when I asked in another thread about the difference between the 390 & 395. When I found that Husky upgraded the 372, I was (even more of) a believer in the popular 372.

I don't mind you guys busting my calls on the professional logger claim. It is ridicules to claim professional status before I make my first cut. But it sure is going over well with the wife & kids!

We are getting way off track, but this is what I use to mow the lawn and move split wood closer to the house so I can throw it down in the basement. It is a John Deere x465 with 250 hours on it. It is really heavy for a garden tractor and was an excellent deal for $2500. Works perfect for moving the trailers and log splitter around the property. I sold the little mower in the first pic. It was better suited for city folk with a lawn.
