Husqvarna 592XP: Real world feedback

Mine has been nothing but a lemon so far it's having major issues with the autotune especially after it warms up. Ran good but a bit rich the first two days then has been nothing but trouble ever since it runs so rich it bugs out and dies after a tank or two and even struggles on the first tank of the day some times. I use it to fall and process wood part time as a second job so when it started acting up was after my free return time limit for pro saws. Had two trips to the dealer so far and it's going for it's third trip here soon. First new saw I ever bought and it's an absolute lemon my 40 year old pioneer works better then this brand new husqvarna. But to be fair when it does run good it's an absolute beast but this one is a lemon unfortunately. I'll update as things progress encase others are having similar issues of running rich.

I’m having the same issues with mine. Dealer hooks it up to the computer and resets it and it runs fine for a few days then starts to run rich again. No power at all. Just took it back for the fourth time today. Really maddening.

Been having problems with the boot cracking in cold weather. Husky just came out with a new boot. Hopefully it works. saw cannot be ran when it is colder than 10 degrees f. Also, having an issue with the recoil breaking in the cold. It needs to be built much stronger. Other than that when the saw runs it is a beast. Best saw I've ever ran.

I’m in Australia cutting Ironbark for firewood. Our Ironbark is hard wood and can be dirty too. Got my 592XP about 9months ago. So far, I’m not overly impressed. I’m on the 3rd muffler. 1st one the centre mount completely fell out before even 10 tanks. 2nd developed cracks in welds around the mounting holes. Outside spikes have broken twice. The top cover has inadequate clearance and has hammered the cooling fins. Now it seems to be not running right. Temps have been around 32degress (90F). In the time I’ve had it, on top of purchase price it’s cost at least 3k in downtime. Another guy I cut with got one at the same time, found out he’s having similar issues with top cover

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been back to the dealer a few times. They try saying it’s from vibrations. After a software upgrade it wouldn’t even start. A two hour round trip back and arguing that the software hadn’t been installed, they finally re-ran the update and it started fine. They told me to run a 9 tooth rim sprocket. I’ve found the last couple months, every chain is losing teeth, a couple chains have lost up to 12 teeth off a 68DL TCT. I’ve gone back to a 7, the chain was way to fast. The reason for the TCT, Australian Ironbark is one of the hardest timber you’ll come across.
For a new saw, supposedly field tested during development, it’s a massive disappointment.

I’ve had a 592Xp for around 12months. In my opinion they’re a good saw but not without problems. The problems I’ve had I’ve mentioned previously on this thread. They are:
- muffler has failed twice.
- there is insufficient clearance between the top cover and cylinder head. It’s hammered the cooling fins.
- outside felling dog has broken twice and I believe the dogs are too short
Recently I’ve read comments about the saw starting to run rich after a few tanks and I have noticed that after several tanks this is happening.
I would like to see Husqvarna being a bit more proactive and open with after sales service and addressing the problems. That’s my thoughts.

Well I've been running my 2022 S/N manufact. date 592 on and off since June last year, doesn't get as much use as I originally thought as I am usually fine to run my ported 572 and 550 and rarely really NEED a bigger saw but it still gets some use probably only run 2 gallons of 40:1 mix through it so far though.
But anyhow, I bought it after being so impressed with the performance and power gains from portwork that my 550 and 572 had.. it's an absolute beast power-wise, totally smokes my HoltzG660pro and drinks like half the mix gas to do so.. but it's weird, sometimes it'll run amazing, and sometimes it feels like it's really rich or lean and I'll try doing the resets and end up just putting it down and grabbing the 572 cause it still runs kinda off.
One thing I've been noticing last few times I cut with it is it seems like it's not getting enough oil to the bar.. I'm only running a 24" and am in bar-length wood and it just seems dry, just tried adjusting the oiler another 2 turns out will have to wait and see if that'll (hopefully) fix that little issue.. but I'd think that a 92cc saw should be set to oil more than the 572 from the factory? but yet it doesn't, not even close.. I didn't want to have It leak bar oil when sitting or have the oil adjustment screw fall out
(That can happen right?) so I haven't really touched it since I bought it, whereas the 572 I actually reduced the oiler since I'm only running a 20" 8pin setup on it.

So I said all that to say/ask this: is the oiler a known issue on these 592 saws? Never replaced an oiler before and since it doesn't leak when sitting (I HATE THAT) I never wanted to mess with it yet, worried if I did it might start to leak when sitting. But after running it today in some real nice Red mystery wood I have been pondering/worrying about what issues I might've bought seeing as how it's a new model of saw.
I'm no expert and I'm definitely not rich so I hope that the oiler issue is just it was set too low from the factory and the adjustment I just made fixes that.. hopefully no need for "firmware" BS as I don't even know where the nearest dealer is that could do that and as I had it ported, the warranty is out the window

On any husqvarna saw I've used, the oiler screw will not fall out. There are max/min limit stops so give it a bit further turn out.

I run a 32” with .404 , with no issues oiling , you ever open the holes in bar larger , there not as big in newer bar , that the bars of old , and check oiler with bar off make sure it pumping adequately, You run a thick viscosity oil ?

Awesome thanks, it must've been turned ALL the way in from the factory as it look me like 6 turns to get it it the full open stop.. I turned it back in from full open 2 turns and will try that there.

Just drilled out the hole a little bit, the heavyweight 24" Husky bar I've been using did have a TINY oil hole, opened it up to like 1/8" (which is at least double the width of the original) And it seems like from the factory they had the oiler screw set at full closed. Never seen that on a new Husky before, but when it sat w/o bar and I'd rev it there was still oil-flow but I guess not near enough. When I was through a tank of fuel the oil tank was still 1/2 full. I was worried if I turned the oiler adjustment screw out too far that it'd leak oil or fall out when sitting so the most I'd ever opened it was like a half-turn. Seen that happen on cheap saws before.
It's raining here today but I'd bet once I get out to cut again the problem will be fixed.
