i found a hand held husqvarna chain saw sharpener gage at Lowes, it is part of a kit with a husky type gage and 2 3/8 round files.

My question is:
Does this gage in the this kit work for the 325 chain as well? I have 3/16 round files will it work with this gage that was part of a 3/8 file kit, or do i need to get a husqvarna hand gage that is specfic to the 325 chain?

No!

3/8 kit to 3/8 chain
.325 kit to .325 chain
3/8 lo pro kit to 3/8 lo pro chain

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

i found this..which one will fit a 353 chainsaw with a 325 chain?

.325/1.3" (PIXEL H30) or .325/1.5" (H25)

Not sure what the differance is...

The 1.3 and the 1.5 behind the slash denote the gauge of the .325 pitch chain --- .050" and .058".

Pixel is a narrow kerf chain and has to be matched to a narrow kerf bar.
The 1.3 and 1.5 is the width of the drivers in MM not " and has to be matched to the bar also

Yes, NK/Pixel is allways .050, while ordinary .325 chain comes in .050, .058 and .063.

Most .325 chain takes a 3/16" file, but there are exceptions that take a smaller one - like the 30-series Oregon ones (low-profile).
