Poulan used to be as well of household name as stihl and husqvarna are now. The new models sold today under husqvarna ownership are but a mere shell of there former self. Poulan saws are what got me into collecting, that and my grandpa. They were everywhere as the was a poulan dealership in the town i live in from the 245a era up until the 330pro 380 pro era. Id buy them all day long for a few dollars each. They are some of the best built simplest saws in the world to work on. And they run good. Dont get me wrong i own stihls and Huskies too but the bright green ones i hold near and dear.
I get a kick out of guys who make fun of my 4200 countervibe with full wrap and 32" bar for being a junk poulan while there running a ms 250
