I hate days like this..

Took off work early today and the VERY first piece of wood I split had a unnoticeable knot in it and opened up my 4 way wedge like a can of sardines...

looks like a speeco product ! same happened to me splitting a 16" x10" straight grained pine with no knots!! ?? fine product of a 4-way!!

I done that a few times . The local welding shop would not weld it anymore . The longest time between braking was 3 years .Used 1/8 inch 7018 rods this year used 3/16. And I'm not at all a welder

I split the easy stuff 1st and leave knarly stuff until the end just for this reason.
