Like all things collectable, some people think they have a gold mine in something old. One day chainsaws may catch on and screw it up for everyone here.
A good example would be my late fathers cap badge collection. He started collecting Canadian Expeditionary Force officer's cap badges and Canadian militia helmet and cross buckle plates after WWII when everyone just threw the stuff away. I don't think he ever bought one. They were given to him or searched out and obtained. Some were traded for. By the time he passed away in 1988 his collection was the largest anywhere. We had no real interest in it and it was auctioned off. It went for $150,000. Most of it to two collectors in the US. Shows you how junk becomes gold.
Hang on to those old and rare saws. You never know.
