Ideas for protecting trees from atv impact

Atvs do have tires all around. Stopping the tires from hitting the trees are one of my goals.

Do you ride atvs? If you ride, you're going to hit a tree every now n then... Unless you ride like grandma or ride in the desert.

Yeah, that would probably work. Where do I get something like that in sizes bigger than 4 inches?

Any drainage supply company will carry it. It is a standard item.

Drop a tree and lay it in front of the tree(s) you want to protect.

You could try using Big-o drainage tube cut into sections.

+1 - what I was thinking. Most building supply and farm stores carry it in black, corrugated plastic for use as culvert, as an alternative to the galvanized stuff.

For bike races, they put up straw bales around sign posts and things to protect the riders if they hit them. Biodegradable too.

The bad part is I just gave away 5 or 6 tires a couple days ago.

If that is the way you want to go, I am sure that you can get some dead tires for free from a tire store, CraigsList, FreeCycle, or a recycling place. They have to pay to dispose of them now.

dont hit the trees and you wouldnt be in that spot. cut up some old tires
