interchangeability ?

Will a clutch from a 029 work on a 036??? Asking because it seems the brake band is interchangeable....

You can get teh IPL for both at the link in this thread http://www.arboristsite.com/chainsaw/188873.htm (I think they are there) and see if they have a common PN. Of course they could be the same part w/ different PNs. I found that when looking for a 8 pin rim. One for a 051 is a different Pn but works on other Stihls.

051 Rim - xxx 1215
Others sawa xxx 1216

SO while a 051 fits other saws the inverse may not work. It is a different part.
