Down here, if you left yellow pine for a month it'd turn green

I've recently been cutting some Western White pine that had been hand fell probably in the 30s or 40s and left. Wood is still a beautiful yellow and sound as the day it was fell. Also cut a fir log in the same area and vintage. It had a little spot rot in it but still some nice wood for being down around 70 years.

virginia pine will last a long time as will white oak and cherry.......the picky buyers won't pay for it though if its dody on the outside.
years ago we cut some gypsy moth killed huge white oak......they veneered any way. but things have tightened up since then.
