Howdy,
I receintly picked up an old Deere 25EV for nothin on a package deal with a nice 009 Stihl. I'm a novice Stihl chainsaw collector and restorer and don't know much about these Deere saws. I got her running real good and the saw seems to be in overall good shape but I cannot get it to oil for the life of me. I cleaned the vent plug in the cap, checked the pickup filter in the tank, and cleaned the oiler port and all looked ok. The manual it came with says this saw calls for 10 to 20W bar oil which seems aweful light. The tank was bone dry when I got it. I just used some 5W20 motor I had to see if it would pick up and oil and its not. I have not tore into it much further than that as I dont want to mess it up as parts seem alot harder to find for these than old Stihl's.
