The "Turbo Clean" moniker was also applied to the 42cc (Wlid Thing) family saws, at least the early ones anyway. Then they used the "Super Clean" label for a while. I've been curious why that was, as they never had the little blue scoop and the inlet looks like these:
As I was looking through a box of parts that Marc sent me I found this older (1995) chassis which answered the queestion:
They did have a scoop, and frankly it was a better design at that. I gotta believe they made them take it off just for brand differentiation. This is a Craftsman A/V chassis which I will be building up with a ported PP260 engine, advanced timing, larger carb and opened up muffler.
