I loaned out a 044 six years ago, seen it just last Tuesday in the truck bed of the fellow I loaned it to, hardly a bit of paint left on the mag case and the plastics faded real bad so I know how how you feel. With 6 saws out on loan I have to stop this foolish practice.

It sounds like he's getting your money's worth out of it...

I loaned a saw out, 024avs very nice saw. Seen it a few min ago in the back of his truck under a load of brush. I almost lost it. The poulan wild thing will be my loaner saw from now on.

People who can afford a truck..can afford a saw. Plenty of used ones out there for under 100 bucks..

He really is Jacob. Another one of my friends with a hard scrabble life, divorced, tossed out of his house, lost most of his tools, little work without tools, loaned him some air nailers and the saw. Got the air nailers back after chasing him a year or so, still has the saw, he picks up the odd firewood cutting gig.

An old saying for y'all.......

My wife is young and my truck is old.......I never loan either one out because it prolly wouldn't be too damn hard to throw a rod in either one.
now I think my keyboard is shorting out due to coffee being spewed on it. now that was just funny.

Happy new year Gary.

We are fixing to go try to round up a decent sized log to test your saw in. I don't want to take it apart until I can document how it runs so I can see if we really make a difference......or if all you guys just think we do.

I don't hand out any of my 2-stroke or 4-stroke powered tools , not even electric ones!
One can NEVER be sure whether it will be abused one way or another! o_O

If any of my power tools craps out while I work with them , then my mind tells me that it happened by my fault and I just have to look at a mirror to see the culprit.
When a power tool dies while being in somebody's hands other than mine , it will always be the user's fault by my mind , even though it might have died in my hands just the same!
I think it's better not to give/lend Your tools away , then regretting having done it. :dumb2:
I don't even like seeing my father use my Dolmar PS6400 , my guts start twisting immediately!

I will come by and help out bringing my own tools (chain saw, weed eater , lawn mover, ...) , but I will not hand over any of my tools for unsupervised usage.

The above stands strong when it comes to lending a tool to Your neighbor, friend or relative - read: "free of charge"!
Everything else is a cat in a bag and You might get scratched and bitten while reaching into it. ;)

P.S.: Happy New Year guys!

I loan most all my stuff out. Though with having a business and having workers I've long accepted stuff will get FUBARED, either from stupidity or just even a genuine screw up.

What does grind my gears is someone breaking something then putting it away like nothing happened!

Yeah pguy puts another perspective on it most of us have fallen on tough times and it good to have a friend to help pick you up when your down. However if you loaned me your saw it would be riding up front with me.
