Just bought my first diesel!

run synthetic oil and bite the bullet and change the fuel filter every other oil change. I picked up 1.25 mpg on my 96 ram 12 valve just by changing to full synthetic and going to 7500 miles between changes. Tranny filter every 35000 miles and still have orignal tranny at 150,000 miles pulling 28' fifth wheel camper,24' livestock trailer,26'lowboy gooseneck(several time with 450c john deere dozer on it and tri axle gooseneck grain trailer(16' bed,42" sides plus 10" tip tops scaling at about 42000lbs)The maintenance is money well spent
