Large saw/small bar+chain

Could a large powerhead with a small bar/chain combo cause unnecessary vibrations in the powerhead. For example a ms 462 and a 16" bar+ chain

It shouldn’t cause any extra vibrations. Run short bars on big saws for racing and other things, no issues.

Not likely. More power, but the chain speed is about the same.

So any imperfection in the chain is going to be amplified. Especially if your rakers are uneven.

Generally a shorter bar will outcut a longer bar, especially when slicing and dicing firewood. A longer bar just gives you more reach and taller guys with longer bars use the tip too much.
