Chainsaw! Okay, that's out of the way.

Bought a Weed Eater leaf blower last year to help start slash piles on fire (great way to do it BTW). Fired it up yesterday to blow leaves off the patio. Ran fine for about a minute then I pointed almost verticle, rattled, and slowed way down, brought it back to level and ran just fine for about 10 seconds. Another rattle and sounded like something dropped inside. Died insstantly. Can't get even one 'pop' out of it.

No odd sounds while cranking it.
Compression is normal.

I only paid $70 for it last year so I bought another yesterday. Didn't figure a $70 thing was worth paying somebody to fix it.

Planning to tear it down but wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what I will find. I am wondering if it is a reed valve engine and that has come adrift.

Electrolux is the warrantee holder if that helps.
