Hi everyone,
This will probably be a little long! I have been lurking this site very frequently for many years now and your threads have helped me immensely! I purchased a Husqvarna 262xp several years ago off ebay and the saw I got was a nightmare, just beat to heck! Not at all what was advertised. This site and your guys' wisdom helped me rebuild my saw with new oem piston, refinish the jug, replace the kill switch, replace crankshaft seals and o rings, tune my carb properly, and so on. In short, without some of the regulars here the rebuild would have been a much more frustrating process. So, consider this my introduction and my sincere thank you!
With that being said, I love my 262xp but unfortunately it woke something up in me and I need another chainsaw . My girlfriend says that there are only two things she can't get in the way of, and that's hunting and now apparently chainsaws have been looking at the 562xp, which I understand is similar in size, weight, and power to my 262xp. I have also been looking at the 572xp, as if I'm going to spend money on a new saw I want something nice with more power than I have now. As far as my needs, let me say that I rarely use a saw (3-6 weekends a year while hunting and camping) and then it's to cut firewood from everything from ponderosa pine to mesquite to juniper. In short, I am a weekend warrior with a saw, but I am the kind of person that subscribes to "buy it once, cry once"; I don't mind paying the money for a professional saw that performs well and will last many years with my minimal use.
So, considering the above, if it were your choice would you buy the 562xp or the 572xp? My heart says get the 572xp, but I value the input from you all after having lurked for so long. Thanks all!
Thanks and apologies for the long post!
