Looking at getting a 1490 XP and would like to know if anyone has one and if they like it. Would also like to know how much a new one is. Dealer here in Edmonton, Canada doesn't have one on stock and would like to know a little more about them from someone who has used one.

We have had a 1490 XP for a year now. First big chipper we've owned as we started with a chuck and duck. We did rent a 250 xp quite a few times and this machine is definitely an upgrade over that one. Really like the hydraulic lift and crush options and the weight of the machine handles the winch well. Had the bucket truck stuck with a trailer behind it recently and the hydraulic winch on the chipper pulled it out with a block and double line. The biggest complaint we have with the 1490 is the ability to back it onto a yard with single tires. Figure it weighs about 4k with winch installed. Makes springtime work difficult so we've added a Brush Bandit 90.

My bandit 200 weighs 6900 pounds. I'm pretty sure the 1490 weighs more.
