There were slanted fin KS and Mahle. It is my understanding the earliest saws had KS jugs and supposedly had better factory porting. I'm not sure when they switched from KS to Mahle. From what I've seen, the slant fin jug saws can sell for $100 more than a comparable straight fin jug saw. Here's one I'm redoing...By the SN, is it a 10 or 12mm saw?
I've read that early 12's have the slant fins as well.
What's the difference in value of a clean 10mm vs. 12mm?
so far as far as build the 044 has much better build quality that the 066.jmho.i got to hate the 066 of course they were ex logging saws.I'm not a Stihl guy, as you might have guessed, but the 044/066's grow on you, and frankly I wouldn't mind getting one to restore
will do.See about pricing a coil while you are at it.
oh i got those.no problem.thank you kind sir.034/036 coil will work
Might have to swap leads though.oh i got those.no problem.thank you kind sir.
I think that must be a popular coil. I believe my 034s has the same coil as an 029/039 alsoMight have to swap leads though.
Just unscrew the lead from the 044 coil and put it on the 034/036 coil
I think 044's are the easiest saw I've ever worked onso far as far as build the 044 has much better build quality that the 066.jmho.i got to hate the 066 of course they were ex logging saws.
