I made a mistake. I forgot to put the needle bearing in when mounting the piston. That's probably the culprit?

I bet it would have been fine if you where running red armor

I would double check that rod end as I cannot see a rod not getting banged to hell and back missing the bearings...might want to invest in a new crank and rod...

I didn't run it long. Just a few minutes while tuning the carb.

That's long enough! That had to have made a HORRIBLE racket. I'm surprised it ran at all. I can't imagine the rod not being damaged.

That's what I was thinking; The noise & surprised it ran at all.
But those rods are pretty damn hard, bet it's OK.

Last I seen when ask all cylinders etc were gone. Been awhile probably all the parts gone.

Just the thoghts of cheap parts both my cyclinders are GTG but nothing wrong with having some parts to play with...

that would be at 50:1 of course .....or was it 40:1 ...going to have to check the oil threads ...

You might want to check that crank rod with a micrometer. I'm surprised it didnt fill the crank case with metal shavings, or did it?

actually have a machinist turn you a go/no go gauge on a lathe, with the small bore of the bearing and pin it would be difficult to actually mic it...

i have done much similar forgot , clutch bearing , installed the piston arrow facing backwards , forgot to contact the impulse line ect. we all make mistakes ...guess the KEY is to correct them before starting/assembling the saw ...lol .....
