Hey guys,
Bought a 10-10A. Seemed like the next step in my budding CAD lust. Problem is I don't have much in the way of knowledge of the old dogs. Saw is running( sort of) I rebuilt the carb and opened up the tank. Sludge fest! Well after getting all the varnish out, I broke out the bore scope and pulled muffler( decarbonized it) and spark plug and carb again. Ouch! Piston has pick marks and chipped on one side, rings good. Scoring is rough but compression is gravity good by the starter cord hang. I really want to do this puppy right so I am begging for your knowledge. By the way if I get my hands on a short block of a 10-10 can I swap in the auto oiler and be good? Looking forward to all the good info... Thanks for hearing me. Trying to save the past... One good saw at a time

eBay is also worth a shot.

I’ll look when I get home. I probably have a 10-10 muffler somewhere collecting dust.
Thanks for the advice I was thinking about maybe building one (fishing for ideas) or using the pro Mac square side mount to get better exhaust flow. I got a lot of carbon out of the factory can.
