It depends on what it needs to fix it

Is it worth fixin? My uncle gave me one, and it in great shape. I just have to get the carb from him.

I've got one and I recently decided to give it a little TLC and see if I could get it to run right again. It's a hurricane Fran saw (1996). It fired right up for me and after I got the carb set to spec, it ran fine.

The Pros: pretty light, pretty cheap
The Cons: very buzzy, oiler runs constantly, outboard clutch, pretty cheap

If you don't need to put much in it other than a little time, you can get it going and resell it for a down payment on a better saw. If all you want to do with it is a little cutting around the yard, it will be fine for that.

I've got my eye on a Stihl 021, so I will likely sell the Mac when I get the Stihl.

Those saws are easy sellers for $75-$100 a pop. They're probably the saw that holds its value the best of all saws out there considering the retail cost at true value hardware stores was only $100.
