I modded my Oly 264 this week and it gained oomph, for sure, but sound "quality" was certainly altered. On my future 361 which will be modded, which mod design works best to maintain a decent sound quality?
I just added another exhaust tube to the upper edge of my Oly opposite the original tube. It's not horrible sounding, but it sounds like someone is stepping on it's toe...Vroooom!

Thats life, opening up the muffler makes more noise.

One thing you could try is with the tubes you add extend them into the muffler well back into the muffler, plug the inside end of the tube and then drill a series of smaller 1/8 or 3/16 holes in the side of the tube, drilling tube can be a pain without a jig, also you could cut 1/8 inch wide slots. keep in mind you total open area, the total area of the smaller openings will need to be a little greater than the opening of the tube it's self.
