Hey you dolmar guys, whats the difference between these two, the 5000 is a dolly 5105 I think, 50cc and 3.9hp, the 5600 is 56cc with same hp. I guesse the real question is which one would you go with, running 3/8 chain and 20" bar. The price is 75$ more for 5105..I know there's quite a few guys runnin 5105s, any one had any experience with the 5600?

Yeah not sure either, not alot of info or reviews on 5600's, got a 421 bout 6 yrs back, cut 25-30 cords of firewood withit so far, great little saw but 20-24" ash is a little much

The 5600 is a clammy. I wouldn't want either to run a 20" bar in the hardwood we have around here but the 5105 can do it. For less money though you could find an ex rental 6100 or 6421 at the local Home Depot.

Ok probably go with the 5105..would love to have a 6100 but HD in this area rents out echo's, thanks guys.

The 5600 isn’t a true clamshell saw. It has a real split magnesium crank case, but the whole assembly sits in plastic cases. Considered to be a “Farm” level saw. I’ve ran both it and the 5000/5105. I’d take the 5000, but the 5600 is a decent saw if the price is right.

I picked up a 5000 a couple months back. I'm running a 20" bar and 3/8 chain. I mostly cut fir and it seemed fine with full bar cuts. Compared to a Stihl MS362 it's about 1 second slower through a 18" Doug fir. I did a mm and removed the cat. That helped a lot. If you go with a 20" get a lightweight bar. It balences out better.
