Last year, I transplanted a maple tree from a wooded area of my property to my yard. Initiallly the tree did well, I watered it and did not fertilize it until after a month. The leaves browned earlier in the fall than my other maples and fell off. The tree has yet to show any leaves/buds, but there is one 'Sucker' at the bottom, near the base of the tree. Is there a chance this tree could survive, or should I give up? The branches are pliable, not real brittle.
