The Super's flatback has a sticking throttle shaft, so the other day, when I found one of the boxes of carbs, I dug these out.

Does anyone have a spec sheet on Flatbacks? Some are not numbered, I don't remember where some of them came from.

I will send the info I got from Mark to you, through email.

Well, if any of you have gaskets and hoses lying around waiting for a desparate soul... that would be me. I found the gasket that goes between the tank halfs. I can make most of the others, but my short list includes

53768a 53768 65625 gasket – insulator** this one is a biggie, I think.
53678 53678a 63669 hose (x2)
58328b 58328a 65657 gasket – fuel tank
58166a gasket crankcase bottom
53678a hose- fuel pickup
51161d 65586 carb gasket
55913b 55913c 68639 gasket – gearcase cover
60409 gasket – oiler

it's an ashtray

Only one of the Kart carbs has a number 48890B, the other has a bigger venturi.
What saw fits the HL103?

This a modified 250, it has a choke equipped carb from a 300.

I am going to have it repainted, yellow with a black hood.

I asked Annie where she wanted to go for a Valentine's lunch, so we made a run up to Grants Pass yesterday, had a great day just cruising around.

How long did that run to GP from CC take Randy?

Randy, Sweet Ranchero, My dad had a 72 and i had a 77
with a 460 in it. She ran very well.

The carbs, The one on the right with out a primer
looks like the small kart carb. Whats the number?

By chance would you happen to have any Tilly HL103 carb's.

Lee

If Randy has any HL103's (or HL19B's or HL63A's) then I hope he put's them in the 'parts box' that's headed south to Sebastopol!:D

Did you win that HL103E that was on feebay a week or two ago Lee? If so, then you outbid me...:msp_flapper:

I'll trade you a Mac air cleaner cover for that ashtray!

Chris B.

I'd like to have that 900G sitting next to the 'ashtray'. Somebody was talkin' about having a run of those covers stamped out (either here on on CSCF). Don't think anything ever came of it. That's a shame. Maybe we could talk Joe Salva into doing a run. He's a Homelite guy (may have been him that was talking about it before). I could use two right now (Original EZ and a 900D) and will likely need more in the future...

The HL103E that I asked Lee about a second ago was from a 1-70 series saw (think it was a 1-72 IIRC) parted out on feebay. The McCulloch Chainsaw Carburetors Book lists the HL103E as being used on some Super 797's (those that didn't use a Walbro SDC).

Check out the listing for the HL272A carb for the McWelder. 1.0" throttle bore and .875" venturi. That'd flow some air. Most saw HL's have a .812" throttle bore and a .687" venturi. IIRC (and I'm sure Lee will set me straight if I'm wrong), an HL272 variant was used on the Homelite 2100.

HL63s I have and you will have and the remains of a 19B.
I'll have to sort through the mystery cubes later.

Ashtrays are annoying, when they get full, I toss 'em. :hmm3grin2orange:

Time more another shot and beer.

I could use a couple of them ashtrays myself !!
time for another yagi and beer :)

Randy, The 48890B is the small kart carb used on many of the
smaller kart motors including the MC75 and MC100. They have a
larger bore than the typical saw carb. I have a few on some of my
797's They seem to run well.

The Tilly HL103 was used on the early Super 797's before they went
to the Walbro SDC carb.

I did buy the one on ebay "Sorry Eccentric" But i'm not sure if the 103
was used as it was advertised on a 1-70 series.

Lee, which BDC were you using in the 797? I'm going to be needing one for a, er, project...

I din't use the BDC carb, There too big.
I used the 48890 carb which has a .940 bore.
Bolts right in the saw with no problems.
There are other .940 bore kart carb's with
different numbers but i'm not familiar with them.

Thank you Lee!

On my next trip out to imbibe, I'll take down some more numbers.

It had crossed my mind to put a 48890 on the 790, it won't bother me to hand prime it. That leaves one for the MC20.

Not a problem buddy, The 48890 is a nice carb.
Down fall is you gotta pull the air filter to prime
everytime to start. But i'm used to it on my saws.
