I'm wondering why I see Pro Mac 10-10S chainsaws going for huge money?

I see a modded one going for $1000 on the Bay, as well as some other high priced ones I've researched over the last couple of weeks.

Its only 57cc, and no anti-vibe. Sure its a rugged tough work horse...but why is it worth dramatically more than other McCulloch's?

Buckin Billy Ray, for one reason, I think. He has a huge following, and now lots of folks want a Mac. Not only the model you suggest, but many of the other ones as well. I could be mistaken that one guy could have that much influence though.

I look back at the 250's, 380's, 1-41, 1-53, and other rare McCulloch's I've had (and sold). They really did not attract much interest nor did they bring much money.
Reason I ask is because I've got a guy that wants to sell me a Pro Mac 10-10S. Its not running... but the way he describes it, it just needs fuel system attention.
I'd rather focus on Echo and John Deere products.
