Dry cork gaskets need some time to absorb fuel and a small amount of swelling occurs, sometimes stopping it's leaks. Be sure the gasket is seated well into the groove of the tank and flat. A small bladed screwdriver can be used to seat the gasket. Take your time.

Thank you all for your input and ideas. It's great to have insight from everyone... I was able to get in contact with Joey, I think we are going to be able to meet up as he doesn't live that far from me.

Hello All,

I just wanted to give you an update on everything. Joey and I were able to get together one evening and get to working on this saw.
First off, Thank you Mark for pointing me his direction... and you were right, all my problems went away.
Within an hour, he had pulled the carb apart had everything cleaned out and rebuilt.. put it back together and it was running better than it was before it got clogged.
For ANYONE who might be looking to get one of these yellow saws fixed, I HIGHLY recommend you get in touch with him and ship it to him if you are not close enough to drive. He is VERY knowledgeable and a very personable guy as well. I would have never been able to get it all back together and working again on my own. Nor did I have the knowledge on how to properly tune the saw after it was running.
A huge shoutout to JoeyMT33 for all of his time and help. Here are some videos to enjoy.

Bret is a very generous guy to say those nice things. All I can say is, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. His saw turned out to be easy to diagnose and repair.

Thanks for visiting Bret. You've got a couple precious little girls too. Holler any time you got a problem with that Mac or any other.

Thanks to you too Mark, you've taught me a few things over the years.

Joey.
