Milled with my Ripsaw band mill, powered by 044 Stihl, from apple trees which had fallen over in an old orchard I am working in. (I posted last fall about reclaiming an orchard).

I have been using the Oregon sharpener (it’s like a dremel with stones) on the bandsaw blade with good results.

I might make some jewelry boxes or something this winter from the wood.

You're putting a dead tree to good use.

Took one down some years back. Too far gone for much so I made charcoal out of it. Once you taste a ribeye grilled on this you won't want to go back to Kingsford!

Nice! Tonight I was just making some pen blanks for an old fella I met on the weekend out of some small apple chunks I had. Never worked with it before; it stinks! But is incredibly beautiful and hard.
