After running a tank through my new FS 45 string trimmer I decided to check the idle, high and low speed settings on the carb.
The idle was dead on the money, as was the low speed setting.
The high speed screw was MAXED out at full rich and the trimmer would only produce 6500 rpm at full throttle. The owners manual states max rpm should be 9500 rpm. I adjusted the screw so that the trimmer runs 7500 rpm at full throttle, Im going to wait a few more tanks before going leaner.
Why on earth would the screw be set to max rich? From most of the threads I have read here I should have expected the saw to be set up lean.
