MS251C tank or low usage parts saw

Howdy folks, Long time. Hope everyone is well.

I have a buddy with a MS251C that sustained an impact, got hit by a trailer in the woods I think, and the tank is broken. He says it stihl runs fine, not much use on it, and he'd like to either find an intact tank or someone who wants a good parts saw to rebuild one that's worn out. I suppose my question is whether there are any special considerations for doing this with a modern clamshell saw. I know the 025/250 was pretty straightforward, but the letter "C" suggests there might be a complexity or vulnerability I know nothing about. Thoughts?

c probably means the easy start system and the tool less chain adjuster. The 241 is the one with mtronic in that displacement size shape and bar mount.

When finding a tank, the only difference is dependent on whether or not there is a primer bulb.

Looks like the current version is MS 251C-BE. C is the toolless chain adjuster and BE is for the wind up easy starter.
