Purchased a saw which was supposed to be a MS261 and turned out to be a MS260. Previous owner complained of constantly breaking clutch springs. Upon investigating, I find excessive slop between crankshaft and clutch drum. Does the MS260 have the same issues as the MS261 with soft crankshaft bearing surface? Also found oil pump drive finger broken off. Clutch drum is 1121 160 2910A driving a 3/8-7 sprocket. Needle bearing 9512 003 2260. Are these the recommended parts and what accounts for the excessive play between driveshaft and clutch drum? Can't visually notice wear on crankshaft surface. Thanks, Dan

I’ll take a look at the IPL tomorrow but the part numbers you’ve listed look right. I’ve sold many 261’s and rarely had one come back for clutch springs. In fact I can’t remember the last time a 261 came in for a broken clutch spring.
