MS462 such small ports?

Finally got 15 tanks through my 462c and decided to open the muffler a bit. I couldn't help but notice how small the odly parallelogram-shaped exhaust port is.
I compared it to my MS362c's exhaust port and found that the 72cc MS462c's port is smaller than the 59cc MS362c's.
Is anything gained by widening and squaring the port, or should I just leave well enough alone?

Not the best but the restriction that counts is usually at the muffler outlet. If you can open it as far as possible then run it and I think you will be happy.
