Copy that. I am convinced. Install it all.I believe they were swapping coils at no charge even in no longer under warranty but, not all dealers are the same. Also, I believe some dealers were swapping out broken case halves as well because of a known flaw.
I've bought and installed a few of the coil kits. It's not just the coil, it's the solenoid. The early solenoids were made differently and were more likely to fail from vibration or dirty fuel. The new solenoids seem to be more robust, they also now recommend the orange filter (higher micron count to reduce debris from getting in the solenoid.
As per an earlier comment from TOM82, re:wiring and the elusive fault(s).....I also bought a replacement wiring harness. I will magnify as I inspect, the entire harness, before installing...if necessary. While the carb is off, I will certainly put the present wiring under a microscope as well.
I may be getting ahead of myself, but when I grab the recoil and fire up first time..........I am seeing several schools of thought. Leave on choke for 90 sec...........make 5 cuts to load the saw.............I believe there is a YT video to make that crystal clear. This is a clients saw. I want it to go home, for good..
