I think it's a great learning tool, like you said we all mess up. Like the time I tucked a piece of metal (fresh from the welder) under my arm to turn on the water faucet, that left a mark.

Ditto Redoaknecks comment on the pucker.
Wondering if that being almost on top of the knuckle will cause it to catch
and give ya a reminder when you stuff your hand in a your pants pocket.

I've had a few nicks that took a while to lose the lumpiness.
My shin and that hatchet indecent (at a much younger age) was one of the larger ones.
It's also how I picked my user name.
