My go to saw is my XL12.
The oiler button stopped working this week. Took out the plunger all looked good, the green O-Ring is really loose and flops around is this supposed to be tight or loose?
Any suggestions would be great!

I ran those old Homeys for years at the state highway dept I worked for. They are as dependable as gravity but busted your ear drums and made your hands numb. And you smelled like 2 cycle smoke at the end of the day
You might find the o ring at NAPA in their box under the counter. Take yours to compare it

Sometimes o-rings can break and transgress down the line in pumping situations. You may have a missing o-ring somewhere in the bar groove. There are not too many situations where an O-ring should fit loose. Sometimes, if there was a wide square o-ring, it can be substituted for two round o-rings in the same groove. I have two XL12's I'm selling, might be able to pull out the oil pump to look at it for you.
