Last winter I ran out of tarps for my wood and I was tired of piles everywhere, but the winter would not go away!
Now that the weather broke, my wife and I built a wood shed, it's smaller than I was thinking, but I didn't want it to have it's own zip code either!
Do you all remember the "Bunker" as someone on here coined it?
I thought that was a better name for it, it sucked to stoop down and crawl under there in your slippers in the middle of the night!
So, we disasembled the bunker and built this wood shed in it's place. Fully loaded to the top all the way forward it will hold 4 cord. All the rest I get is on my neighbors 2 acre property and I will truck a little over when needed. I also have another shed, if you could call it that, behind the shop that holds just over a cord. Next year I will more than likely re-do that one too.
Back to the front...
I lined the inside with OSB, because it's cheap and can be replaced if damaged and the out side will be sided with the old siding on our house. We are going to tear off the T-111(glue and sawdust) siding and re-do it with Hardyboard and change the windows! Just a small project!
So, it be a few monthes before the out side skin goe's on.
These were the ends I had to cut off when I thought I would cut my rounds @ 20"! Boy, a few loads of those monsters and I adopted my wood cutting partners 15" rule! WHEW!
looks good man. i been meanint to build one for the last couple years. seems i keep putting it off. problem with that is now i got wood stacked up everywhere.
i did bit of measuring yesterday i got about 12-13 cord split and stacked of hardwood as of now. i got another 2 cord of pine split and stacked :( i still got a ways to go in the to be split pile aswell. this weekend i finally got all the split stuff off the ground and stacked. i think i got another 2 cord seasoned at my parents house aswell. along with another 2 cord worth of rounds if i had to guess.

Definately an improvement

You've upgraded for sure. Out here in the Western rain forest I'd opt for some more ventilation around the shed to get a good airflow. You're a lot drier over there so may not be necessary.

Dimensions

My main shed is only 8 x 12. I do store a bit more in the leanto.

The scrap shed (12 x 16) as you can tell was built out of left overs from a garage and was basically free. The outfit went out of business and I sold a pickup to one of the kids building my mom's garage so they left quite a bit of material behind. I'm suprised the thing is still standing.

Yea, we are dryer over here. I love it, we have 4 seasons on the RIGHT side of the Mountain!:hmm3grin2orange:

whats the dimensioons on those sheds? if you dont mind how much did all the materials cost? also what did you guys use for roofing?

I can't remember the cost of the material, I got all of it except the metal roof from Home De-pot.
6-2X6
5-cement blocks w/4X4 metal brackets in them
5-2X4
5-sheets of OSB @5.67 each
The metal I got years ago from a guy that builds metal buildings and he was selling the over stock he had been saving. It was a butt load of metal! I got the metal @ $.40 a linear foot! Sweet!
We have put three walls around the car port, metal roof on the office, wood shed and still can make a short over hang of the office and car port to park the riding mower, on 240.00 worth of metal!
